One of the most challenging treks in Pir Panjal range.
About the trek
An adventurous challenging trek across Kaali Chho Pass (~4966 m), This pass is named after revered local goddess 'Bhadrakali' and considered to be the toughest pass to cross in Pir Panjal Range. It is the second highest among the passes across Pir Panjal range that connect Chamba with Lahaul.
Route
Bharmour - Badgram - Bhadra - Bansar - Alyas - Kaali Chho Pass - Alayas - Trilokinath
Day 1 Bharmour - Badgram
Reach Bharmour by afternoon latest. Proceed to Bhadra by vehicle (~2,5 hours)

Day 2 Badgram - Upper Bhadra
Start the trek on a forest trail to Bhadra, which is the last inhabited place before we reach Lahual side.

Day 3 Upper Bhadra - Bansar
Ascened to Bansar. Bansar is revered as a sacred place by Gaddis as the place where Banni Mata incarnated.

Day 4 Bansar - Alyas
Alternating on stretches of grass and moraine, we continue our ascent to Alyas, the base of pass.

Day 5 Rest Day for acclimatization
Rest and acclimatization day, to prepare you for high altitude pass crossing next day.

Day 6 Alyas - Kaali Chho Pass - Alyas
Most demanding day of the trek. We start no later than 4 a.m. as there are chances of weather getting bad after noon time. Distance to pass is not much but steep gradient and high altitude make the climb long and test one's limits! After offering our prayers at temple at pass top, we descend to Alyas on Lahaul side. Descent is tough but relatively easier than the climb.

Day 7 Alyas - Trilokinath
Trek down from Alyas to Trilokinath and visit famous Trilokinath Temple.
