Batseri - Rakcham 3 - 4 hours
Trek towards Rakcham (pronounced 'Rakchham').
Rakcham is on right bank of Baspa and at an altitude ~3000 m .
It is dotted with fields of local grains Ogla and Fafra (similar to buckwheat) which are not only highly nutritious but also add a unique charm to the scenery. Day 3
Rakcham - Chitkul. ~ 5 hours
This part of the valley is mesmerizingly beautiful and leaves behind
indelible memories in your mind. Can not be described in words.
Since the road has now been built in place of old trails, we proceed through the road itself.
However there is hardly any sign of human interference except the road itself!
The route is isolated and peaceful, passing through forests and fields and wide open valley.
Slope is gradual. In approx 5 hours we reach Chitkul, which is the last village in this direction.
It appears as if you have reached a different world altogetherDay 4
Explore Chitkul. In evening, Chitkul - Sangla (by vehicle)
This day is to explore Chitkul and surroundings by short mini treks. In evening we reach back Sangla by vehicle.
